I really do enjoy our trips to Adelaide. The architecture, leafy suburbs, and beautiful landscape is so refreshing for me, and so strikingly different to everything I know in Perth. Here are some street photographs and stolen moments from our trip in October last year.
The bonus of Sydney being such a bustling city, was there was a lot going on, lots of people moving around, who for the most part were completely oblivious, or simply didn't care for another tourist with a camera.
The Seventh Avenue traffic bridge, and its brother on Third Avenue in Maylands, is coming down this weekend. The structures are over 100 years old and simply can't cope with the amount of traffic that crosses them these days.
Generations of West Aussies have been hanging out here, whiling away the weekends since before I can remember.
Pretending that you're a tourist can be a great way to discover your city or suburb, because it forces you to look beyond the immediate scene in front of you that you may have become 'poster blind' to as a result of visiting a place numerous times. Tourists look up, and drink in their surroundings where many others may walk past, unaffected.
